The exam that is 1Z0-597, SPARC T4-Based Server Installation Essentials comprises upon five topics which are SPARC T4 Server Overview, Oracle Enterprise Installation Standards (EIS), and SPARC T4 Server Installation, Oracle VM Server for SPARC, and SPARC T4 Server Maintenance and Diagnostics.
These topics are explained below.
SPARC T4 Overview which is the first section involves the target workloads for the SPARC T4 servers, SPARC T4 processor architecture, the SPARC T4 server architecture, the SPARC T4 cryptographic algorithms, and the SPARC T4 virtualization options (e.g., Oracle VM Server for SPARC).
Second section that is Enterprise Installation Standards (EIS) includes the Enterprise Installation Service methodology, the self-contained installation documentation, an installation configuration plan, the test procedures plan, hardware acclimatization process, cable labeling and routing process, the electrical grounding requirements, the Oracle Solaris requirements, boot disk layout and mirroring, and also includes Live Upgrade, Boot environment, and Image Packaging System.
SPARC T4 Server Installation section that is the third section includes benefits of electrostatic discharge prevention, Rack mount the server, cable, and installation of peripherals, the service processor, secure the service processor, Update of the firmware, Performance of host power on and Power On Self Test, Verify and/or upgrade RAID controllers, Install Oracle Solaris,Test CPU and the memory with Sun Validation Test Suite (SunVTS), Auto Service Request (ASR), Run Explorer and register products, and Troubleshoot common installation issues.
Oracle VM Server for SPARC section that is the fourth section involves the patch and firmware levels, installation of the Logical Domains (LDoms) manager, Harden the control domain, Configuration of the control domain, Installation and configuration of guest domains.
SPARC T4 Server Maintenance and Diagnostics section which is the fifth and last topic includes customer and field replaceable components, Verification of the system serial number, replacement of the motherboard, PCIe card and riser removal and installation, the disk, power supply, and fan removal and installation, memory configuration guidelines, disk backplane configuration rules, server management tools, and Collect system error and state information.
There are about three types of training options that are offered by Oracle for this, 1Z0-597, SPARC T4-Based Server Installation Essentials exam with which the candidates can benefit from. These trainings include boot camps which is meant to enhance the candidate's skills by providing him role-based training on the specific Oracle solutions and services, the other training is Instructor-Led Training that is delivered by Oracle University, this training is for those who want to benefit from hand on experience to gain real working skills and knowledge to work toward the Oracle certifications.
